So, for those of you who pay attention to our Twitter or Facebook or the big game news sites, this might not be a massive reveal, but we are going to give some insight about our latest announcement: We're working on Serious Sam: The Random Encounter.
A few weeks ago, we were contacted by Digital Devolver and Croteam to give a go at creating a game about an gaming icon both me and JW really enjoyed playing back in the days. So naturally, we said 'fuck yeah' and started working on a game idea. What would be the most absurd game to star Serious Sam that would be both fun and not sacrifice any of the things that made Sam "Serious" Stone a gaming greatness? Well, after some arguing, we agreed that the way to go is a turn-based RPG.
To be in time for the announcement, most of the work that has been done on this game until now has been done in our hotel rooms in San Francisco, in the airplane back home and after returning home with a serious case of 'why is it still light anyway'-jetlag. To recover from that, we're currently having vacation until Monday, so consider this our weekly wrap-up.
The Random Encounter will be released under our 'Vlambeer'-label and should be done somewhere in the next few months. For now, we've got something else to wrap up for our Light label, and we are looking into the possibilities of another Light game for when The Random Encounter is done.
We'd better get back to work.
