We were invited to speak at Spilbar #8 in Copenhagen & since the Global Game Jam happened the day after, we decided to attend the Copenhagen edition - better known as the biggest Global Game Jam location in the world: the Nordic Game Jam. For those of you who've never heard of a Game Jam, it's basically an event in which small teams of developers try to create a game based on some theme in an extremely limited amount of time - in the case of the Global Game Jam, that's two days of no sleep, lots of caffeinated drinks and lots of development - but more importantly, it's a chance for meeting old friends and new friends alike. Some parties and Infinite S.W.A.T. reaching the finals of the event concluded a great weekend over in Copenhagen.
Infinite S.W.A.T. is available for free download after the jump.
We made Infinite S.W.A.T. together with Ciro Continisio (of UFHO2 fame) and Avri 'Hempuli' Teikari. It's completely free to download as one of the many things created at the Nordic Game Jam, but do note that it's a two player game you can only play with two Xbox Controllers. Even more importantly, realize we cannot support this, cannot guarantee it'll work nor say that it's really done or polished: it's just a prototype made in two days without any sleep. Do definitely let us know what you think through Twitter, Facebook or e-mail, though!
We wanted to sign off with this video of Wario64 showing the world his top-secret Super Crate Box iOS techniques. Speaking of Super Crate Box iOS, we're taking a week off to recover from the Game Jam as Halfbot finishes up the work on the long-awaited Super Crate Box iOS update. We're sorry that the update was delayed a bit - we ran into problems that potentially risked save-game data and for us, the choice between risking your data or pulling the update is a pretty easy one. We pulled the update, but not to worry though, the update is underway and should be available somewhere later this month!
